Neighbors report man running down Playa del Carmen street in blood stained shirt

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man was removed from Playa del Carmen streets Saturday night after neighbor reports of a stabbing. On Saturday evening, patrolling officers responded to the report of a man seen running down the street in a blood stained shirt.

Area residents in the Bellavista neighborhood made the report at around 7:40 p.m. telling emergency 911 personnel that someone had been injured by a knife. As police were arriving, they saw a second person signaling toward a man who was attempting to flee in a blood stained shirt.

He was seen running between Avenidas 135 and 140. Police were successful in apprehending the now-identified man as 40-year-old Ignacio N from the state of Guerrero.

Preliminary reports say the man was at a house party when, during an altercation, he stabbed another man in the neck. The stabbed man bled to death. He was pronounced dead at the home by responding paramedics.
