Investigation continues: Head hitman charged with PDC murder

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A head hitman for a criminal group has been formally charged with murder. On Friday, Jesús “N” was charged in the June 3 shooting death of a man police have said was an opposing gang member.

According to a statement from the FGE (Fiscalía del Estado), Jesús “N” has been charged “for his probable involvement in acts possibly constituting the crime of aggravated homicide against a victim of reserved identity.

“The now accused, who is identified as the head of hitmen for a criminal group, is being investigated for events that occurred on June 3 of this year, when he arrived at a bar located on 18th Street and 40th North Avenue in the Centro and/or Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood where he located the now deceased, whom he shot with a firearm six times, causing his death, and then fled the establishment.”

According to the official statement, the unidentified deceased was shot by Jesús “N” for belonging to an opposing criminal group who refused to pay protection money.

A man and woman were shot inside this Playa del Carmen restaurant in early June allegedly by Jesús “N”.

“The defendant is also allegedly involved in the attempted murder of a man and a woman who were shot on June 11 of this year at the restaurant where they worked,” the FGE added in their statement. Jesús “N” has been ordered to remain in prison during his trial.
