FGE of Coahuila makes arrest in deadly mine flood that killed 10

Sabinas, Coahuila — One person with an outstanding arrest warrant for the deadly Pinabete Mine that killed 10 has been arrested. In a notice, the Attorney General’s Office in Coahuila announced the arrest of Cristian “S”.

According to the FGE, “the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) executed an arrest warrant against Cristian “S ”for his probable responsibility in the federal crime provided for in the General Law of National Assets.

“The defendant allegedly illegally exploited an asset belonging to the Nation, located in the “El Pinabete” mine, in La Agujita, in the municipality of Sabinas, Coahuila, where 10 miners were trapped on August 3.

“Personnel from the PFM of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), arrested Cristian “S” on Cananea Agujita Street.” His next court appearance will be on September 29.

He is to remain in detention at the Federal Center for Social Rehabilitation number 18 in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila.

The Attorney General’s Office says they continue with the search for two others who also have outstanding arrest warrants for the deadly mine flood that killed 10 miners.
