Cancun, Q.R. — On Saturday, the Cancun International Airport broke another single-day operations record with 648, up from the previous post-pandemic record-breaking figure of 567 the week before.
According to airport managing company ASUR, the airport had 329 arrivals of which 96 were domestic flights and 233 international in addition to 319 departures for 648 operations.
ASUR says travelers landing nationally are arriving from Aguascalientes, Bajío, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Mexicali, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Reynosa, San Luis Potosí, Tijuana, Torreón, Tuxtla, Veracruz and Villahermosa.
Internationally, tourists are coming from Amsterdam, Atlanta, Atlantic City, Austin, Baltimore, Bogotá, Boston, Buenos Aires, Calgary, Caracas, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Edmonton, Istanbul, Philadelphia, Flores, Frankfurt, Guatemala, Halifax, Hamilton, Hartford, Holguín, Houston, Kansas, Havana, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Lima, Lisbon, London and Los Angeles.
The arriving travel list continues with Madrid, Medellín, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Montreal, Moscow, Nashville, New York, New Orleans, Orlando, Ottawa, Panama, Paris, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, Quebec, Raleigh, Regina, Sacramento, Salt Lake , San Antonio, San Francisco, San José, San Luis, Santa Clara, Seattle, Tampa, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington, Winnipeg and Zurich.
The airport’s historical figure for single-day operations was 659 flights reached on March 31, 2018. On December 12 (2021), the Cancun International Airport generated an all-new post-pandemic single day figure with 567 flight operations. It was the highest since the pandemic began.
