Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A 38-year-old British woman identified as Lina N, drowned Tuesday off a Playa del Carmen beach. Authorities were called after other beachgoers saw her having trouble and pulled her from the water.
While she was reportedly returned to the sand with weak vital signs, she was pronounced shortly after being admitted to a private Playa del Carmen hospital around 2:00 p.m. Details that lead to her drowning were not provided.
Earlier this week, a man was rescued from the sea of a public beach area by Playa del Carmen lifeguards after suffering an epileptic seizure while swimming.
