Mayabalam, Bacalar — The body of a man found Sunday on a ranch is believed to be a Bacalar man kidnapped last week.
The body was found decomposing on a ranch by an area resident Sunday. Police arrived to verify the finding. It has since been reported that the body is that of a 30-year-old man who was forcefully removed from his Chetumal home May 22 by four armed men.
Ministerial Police are investigating the possibility of a revenge kidnapping and murder between rival criminal groups. The body was found 150 meters off the main road. His hands were tied. He was found blindfolded and shot to death.
