Acapulco, Guerrero — A man who rented beach umbrellas and chairs in Acapulco was shot and killed in broad daylight before his shooters fled on a jet ski. The shooting happened around 3:00 p.m. in an area of Papagayo beach.
Witnesses to the shooting said the man, who was alone on the beach at the time, was approached by armed men who shot him then fled on a jet ski. The shooters vanished out to sea.
Acapulco Tourist Police cordoned off the area, while experts from the State Attorney General’s Office carried out the legal proceedings. Family members arrived to identify the body. Arrests have not been announced.
Earlier this month, a similar shooting was reported when a man selling cigars along a beach in Cancun was shot and killed.
