Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An arrest has been made in the recent shooting death of a Playa del Carmen man. On Tuesday, the State Attorney General’s Office reported the arrest of Alfonso “R” “for his probable participation in the crime of homicide to the detriment of Arturo “A”.”
The agency said “the arrest took place when Alfonso “R” was driving his public service transportation unit in the streets of Playa del Carmen.” He was taken into police custody after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
“The subject was related due to his probable participation in the homicide, with a firearm, of a person, in events that occurred in the vicinity of 115 and Constituyentes Avenues, on Saturday, November 19 of this year,” the FGE added.
Last week, a man identified as Arturo “A” was shot while driving his car along 115 Avenue. He was dead by the time paramedics arrived. His Mazda was riddled with bullet holes.
The FGE reported that the car “had damage to the window glass in the upper left door, as well as damage to the frame of the front left door.”
The FGE says their investigation continues to find the whereabouts of the other people related to the shooting.
