Another Playa del Carmen taxi driver hands police fake license

Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — A Playa del Carmen taxi driver has been arrested after presenting police with a fake license. Over the weekend, police arrested the 52-year-old woman when she was pulled over in a city radar operation for speeding.

While reviewing her paperwork, Transit elements were handed a driver’s license that tuned out to be a fake. In a statement, Public Safety and Transit of Solidaridad said, “during the implementation of a Radar Operation, Transit elements secured on the Playa del Carmen-Cancún federal highway, a woman who was identified as Verónica “N”, 52 years old, from Jalisco.

“She was found in possession of a traffic driving license, apparently false, while traveling aboard a vehicle authorized as a taxi with economic number 3134 at excess speed.”

It is the second time in two weeks that a Playa del Carmen taxi driver has handed city police officers a fake driver’s license. Earlier this month, another Playa del Carmen taxi driver handed police an expired circulation card and fake driver’s license after being pulled over.
