Mexico City, Mexico — Pilots with Aeromar have said they will continue their strike into January of 2023 after a protest last week for nonpayment.
During their Monday protest, they had threatened a strike for Thursday if payments were not made. On October 14, 92 Aeromar pilots agreed to extend the strike due to constant non-payment and the technical bankruptcy suffered by the airline.
In a statement, the Trade Union Association of Aviator Pilots (ASPA) of Mexico said that the strike will be extended until January 18, 2023.
Last week, Aeromar pilots and airline attendants took to the street outside Terminal 2 of the Mexico City International Airport in protest of non-payment of wages that they claim, amounts to nearly 100 million peso.
