Active PDC taxi driver stopped for reckless driving hands cops fake license

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Another Playa del Carmen taxi driver has been jailed for handing city cops a fake license. On Wednesday, 23-year-old Victor “N” was pulled over for reckless driving.

When asked to produce paperwork, he handed Solidaridad officers a fake driver’s license.

Victor “N” was pulled over in Colosio after police reported seeing him drive recklessly and without respecting traffic regulations. When asked for his taxi paperwork, the unit was found to be in legal order, however, Victor’s license was not.

In an  Seguridad Pública Solidaridad (SPC) statement, “Traffic Police arrested a subject in possession of an apparently apocryphal driver’s license in the Colosio neighborhood after driving recklessly and without respecting the Traffic Regulations.

“The events occurred on CTM Avenue when the officers observed a male who identified himself as Victor “N”, 23 years old, originally from this state, recklessly driving a vehicle authorized as a taxi between vehicles and without respecting the Traffic Regulations.

Likewise, the unit’s plate holder did not allow correct visualization since it was dark in color. After stopping him, the subject gave the officers a driver’s license that did not have the authorized security indicators or a record of its processing, so he was secured and placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office.”

Over the past few weeks, at least three other active Playa del Carmen taxi drivers that were stopped for traffic violations were found in possession of fake licenses.
