Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A young man has been taken into police custody after a shooting at a Playa del Carmen gas station. The shooting was reported early Friday at a gas station along Constituent Avenue in the Ejidal neighborhood.
Emergency 911 received the report of a person injured by firearm. Police and emergency personnel responded to the call where they were successful in interviewing nearby neighbors who were able to detail the driver and vehicles involved, both of whom, had already fled.
A search operation lead to the discovery of the Jeep Wrangler and subsequent arrest of the young male driver alleged responsible for the gas station shooting. The person fired upon, a man, fled the scene and was later located in his Jetta car along 105 Avenue.
