Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Grupo Xcaret has announced the cancellation of several of their upcoming events due to restrictions issued by the World Health Organization. In a statement, the company said that they have canceled their 2020 Xplor Bravest Race, Xel-Há Triathlon and Festival of Life and Death Traditions for this year.
Xplor Bravest Race would have been held in September, the Festival of Life and Death Traditions in October and November and the Xel-Há Triathlon in November. They report the decision was made in order to safeguard the well-being of employees, participants and visitors to the destination.
“Safety is and will continue to be a priority for Grupo Xcaret. We are working on the reprogramming of our events that year after year, receive thousands of participants and visitors, with the clear objective that their well-being is the most important thing at the moment,” said Elizabeth Lugo, Executive Director of Xcaret Parks and Tours.
Although the official dates on which the events will take place again have not yet been confirmed, Grupo Xcaret hopes they can be resumed next year (2021).
