Would-be thieves ran fast but police ran faster arresting four in attempted gas station robbery

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — By chance, Playa del Carmen police thwarted an attempted gas station robbery in which four were still arrested. The group of four would-be thieves were at the gas station trying to make away with the day’s earnings when police happened by the Bellavista neighborhood.

According to information from Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, 22-year-old Eduardo N and 37-year-old Fernando N, both from Veracruz were taken into custody along with their two accomplices, 36-year-old Carlos N and 22-year-old Melquisedet N from Tabasco.

Playa del Carmen police began a foot chase that ended in the successful detainment of all four after they attempted to flee by hopping a fence. On duty security guards filled police in on what was going on. He was also able to verify and identify the four as those attempting to rob the gas station.
