World’s largest cruise ship scheduled to dock Cozumel and Mahahual

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Royal Caribbean’s vessel Wonder of the Seas, is scheduled to dock at Cozumel and Mahahual. The vessel, the largest operational cruise ship in the world, will dock in the seaside towns March 14 and 15, respectively.

On Monday, the massive 362 meter-long ship with a passenger capacity of 6,988 and 2,300 crew, docked at Cozumel. Passengers will remain on the island of Cozumel from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The 1,188-foot-long cruise ship will then sail to the Costa Maya Port of Mahahual on Wednesday, where it will remain docked for approximately eight hours before setting sail for Coca Cay, Bahamas.

Luis Armando González Salazar, Director of Municipal Tourism said the vessel departed Florida on Friday. During its second voyage, it will visit both Cozumel and Mahahual for the first time.

The Wonder of the Seas vessel is currently on its second ever voyage. After nearly six years of construction, it was delivered to Royal Caribbean on January 27 of this year, with its maiden voyage out of Port Everglades, Florida, on March 4, 2022.

During the month of March, the Costa Maya Port of Mahahual is scheduled to receive 73 vessels. It has already seen 125 vessels arrive this year.
