Mahahual, Q.R. — After its one-day stay in Cozumel, the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Wonder of the Seas, sailed to Mahahual, the second Quintana Roo port. Passengers on the world’s largest cruise ship spent a majority of Tuesday in Mahahual before setting sail again.

In both ports, municipal authorities welcomed the ship while giving recognition to the ship’s director, Gianluca Cornell, who also gave a commemorative present to his hosts.

On Monday, the 362 meter-long ship with a passenger capacity of 6,988 and 2,300 crew, docked at Cozumel. It was the ship’s second-ever voyage and first stop to the island. On Tuesday, the boat sailed for Costa Maya where passengers disembarked for a day of shopping and sightseeing along with three other cruise ships.

Luis Armando González Salazar, Director of Tourism Development of Othón P. Blanco, said that during the month of March, the port of Mahahual is scheduled to receive 77 cruise ships.
