Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman who was shot more than a week ago in a residential area of Playa del Carmen has died. The 39-year-old shooting victim died after spending 10 days in hospital.
She was admitted August 28 with three bullet wounds, one of which was to her head. The unnamed woman was a local gas attendant. She was shot in a targeted shooting in the irregular area of In-house in the extreme west part of Playa del Carmen.
On the night of August 28, she was intercepted by armed men while walking on Bahía de Chechén Street. She was shot three times before her shooters fled. Doctors pronounced her Thursday morning around 5:00 a.m. of a cardiac arrest. Police have not made any arrests in that now fatal shooting.
