Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman in the ferry line to cross to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen has been taken into police custody. On Saturday, the woman identified as Robbin N, was pulled from the line and inspected after she was marked positive by an officer’s narcotics dog.
The member of the Canine Unit of Quintana Roo marked the woman during a routine ground tour when the dog and its handler were conducting foot tours in the area of the ferry terminal. The woman was approached by the police officer after he noticed her in the line without a mouth mask. As he neared, she attempted to evade him by leaving the lineup.
An inspection revealed several bags of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
