Woman ricochets off parked Playa del Carmen cars before toppling her own

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Residents in central Playa del Carmen called police after witnessing a car overturn. The white car landed on its roof in the middle of the street after colliding with two others.

Police responding to the 8:27 p.m. report arrived at the scene Sunday along 10th Street and 15th Avenue to find one woman inside the overturned vehicle. Witnesses told police that when she neared 15th Avenue, she was speeding and lost control which is when she slammed into two parked cars before finally toppling her own.

The driver, 35-year-old Lydia N from the state of Querétaro, was not injured in the accident, but was suspected of drunk driving. Insurance companies were called to the scene to deal with two damaged cars.
