Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The FGE has reported the beginning of an investigation into the broad daylight shooting of a woman in front of two minor children on Wednesday.
In a brief social media statement, the agency said “The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports that it initiated an investigation for the deprivation of the life of a woman of legal age with a reserved identity that occurred this Wednesday morning in the streets of Villas del Sol of the Municipality of Solidaridad due to gun shots. Agents of social representation are collecting the interviews and experts are gathering evidence to identify the likely participants in this illegal act.”
On Wednesday morning, a lone male approached the driver’s side of a car and fired at the woman behind the wheel. She was killed. Reports say the shooting took place in front of her two young boys.
Solidaridad Police were the first to arrive at the site and cordon off the area. Paramedics were also called to the Villas del Sol subdivision where they removed the two minor children. Witnesses to the broad daylight attack have said that the shooter fled in a red car.
