Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two young women from out-of-state were picked up in Playa del Carmen on drug and weapons charges. The 21-year-old from Chihuahua and 27-year-old from Chiapas were jailed Monday after police located narcotics and a replica firearm.
The pair were handcuffed from the Palmas II residential area of the city after patrolling officers saw them handling bags of narcotics. Upon approaching, the pair fled into a home where one of them reportedly aimed her replica firearm at police.
Both were captured and inspected. Between them, police located more than 200 bags of narcotics that included marijuana, powdered and crack cocaine along with crystal meth, one fake gun and real ammo.
