Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman was taken to Playa del Carmen hospital Sunday night after rolling her car. The female driver, who is reported to be a U.S. tourist, crashed into a light pole south of Playa del Carmen.
The woman, who was the only person in the car at the time of the crash, was removed from the crumpled car by firemen after rolling it. The car rolled after making contact with the garrison. It finally came to a stop in the central median after slamming into the base of a light pole.
Highway elements of the National Guard were on scene while the car was towed. There was no official report on what caused the accident.
