Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Three people were hurt Wednesday in an LP gas explosion in west Playa del Carmen. Solidaridad firemen were sent to an address on Viveros Avenue where they located a blown-out property.
Three from inside the rented room were injured when an accumulation of gas inside was ignited. An ambulance was sent to Villas del Sol to provide medial attention to the three residents who were transferred to hospital.
One adult woman was transferred in critical condition after suffering third degree burns. One minor was reported taken to hospital with second degree burns, while a third child suffered minor burns.
The explosion reportedly shook a neighboring building. Municipal Civil Protection were at the scene to cordon off the area while firemen attended to the fire and subsequent gas leak.
