Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman has been arrested after a shooting that left one young local man dead. The shooting happened Saturday night on a ball court of a public park in the 28 de Julio neighborhood.
The 23-year-old man was shot and killed and left laying face down on the ball court while neighbors stood by. Police were called after receiving the 10:40 p.m. report of the shooting.
When they arrived, neighbors described a man and woman aboard a motorcycle who were believed involved, telling police that at least one person fled into nearby bush to hide.
An area search by police located one woman who was arrested. Police say 23-year-old Danae N from the State of Mexico has been detained for her possible participation in the deadly shooting.
A minor female child was injured in the public park shooting attack after being grazed in her left foot by one of the bullets.
