Bacalar, Q.R. — A Bacalar motorcycle driver was killed in a highway accident Friday after colliding with a semi. The two vehicle accident happened at the junction near the community of Miguel Hidalgo in the municipality of Bacalar.
National Guard Highways were part of the first responders sent to the scene in response to motorist reports. Paramedics located the male driver of the motorcycle and his bike partially under the semi. The driver was pronounced at the scene.
The semi was found with a set of wheels off the ground when the trailer became lodged off the highway and into the ditch. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
Wet roads are being factored into the fatal two vehicle crash.
