Wet roads blamed for three vehicle crash on PDC overpass

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Wet roads have been blamed for a three vehicle crash on a Playa del Carmen overpass. Police were at the scene around 3:30 p.m. after motorist reports of the crash that involved a bus and two cars.

Traffic was heading south on the overpass at Avenida Juárez when the bus and cars collided. Additional traffic elements were sent to direct traffic while others dealt with paperwork of those involved.

An ambulance was called but not needed. Tow trucks were brought in to remove the three damaged vehicles. Police have not commented on exactly how the chain reaction happened, however, they are factoring in the wet roads.

In a brief statement, the SSC (Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad) reported “the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Solidaridad, through the Traffic and Road Police, responded to the report of a traffic accident on the vehicular bridge in the south-north lane at the height of Avenida Juárez.

“Drivers are urged to take extreme precautions when driving on wet ground.” There were no injuries reported in the crash.
