Tulum, Q.R. — A new direct flight from Costa Rica has been announced for the state of Quintana Roo. On Sunday, Governor Mara Lezama announced that starting July 1, 2025 Volaris will begin operating between San José, Costa Rica and Tulum.

The new connection will be a direct flight that will land at the Tulum International Airport. According to Lezama, the new route is the result of efforts and promotion during the recent tourism fair in Madrid.
“Friends, the good news continues for the expansion of connectivity in the Mexican Caribbean. We have news of a new air connection between Tulum and San José, Costa Rica operated by Grupo Volaris,” she reported.
“This new flight will begin operating on July 1st of this year at the Tulum International Airport which means that our air connectivity with Central America continues to be strengthened in this New Era of Tourism.

“We continue to promote our destinations to attract more visitors, promoting shared prosperity, growth and development of our communities. We continue to transform our paradise. Welcome to the Mexican Caribbean. We await you with open arms!” Lezama said.
