Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man accused of stealing a bank client’s card from an ATM machine was found in possession of 14 cards. The incident happened Thursday when Solidaridad officers were stopped by a citizen who said their card had been swiped from the ATM by a man while they were using it.
The man, who was pointed out to police, was seen running through the shopping mall parking lot but stopped and inspected after the allegation. During the physical inspection, police found the man in possession of a wallet with 14 different bank cards inside.
The man, identified as 53-year-old Javier “N” from Veracruz, was arrested from the Playa del Carmen shopping mall parking lot on 115th Avenue after being positively identified by the bank card victim.
In a statement, the Seguridad Pública y Tránsito of Solidaridad reported that Javier “N” is being investigated for bank card thefts at other institutions.
