Veracruz driver on stolen motorcycle hands Playa del Carmen police fake license

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Veracruz man caught driving a stolen motorcycle with a fake driver’s license remains jailed. Ángel “N” was arrested by Municipal Police from Playa del Carmen streets after being seen “driving recklessly without respecting traffic regulations.”

According to a report by Policia Solidaridad, “Municipal Police recovered a motorcycle reported stolen and seized a subject in possession of an apparently apocryphal driver’s license after being arrested for driving recklessly and without respecting the Traffic Regulations.

The arrest took place Tuesday in the Villas del Sol subdivision of Playa del Carmen.

“The events occurred on Constituyentes Avenue and Tucanes Street when elements of the Preventive Police observed that the subject was recklessly driving an Italika brand motorcycle, type 150, and he was not wearing a safety helmet,” they detailed.

After stopping him, officers were handed a driver’s license from the state of Quintana Roo, which was “apparently apocryphal since it did not show the corresponding security locks.”

Officers also found the motorcycle he was driving had been reported stolen September 29, 2023. Police proceeded to arrest 28-year-old Ángel “N” originally from Veracruz.
