Venezuelan man to stand trial for starting deadly INM fire that killed 40

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua — Venezuelan man Carlos “C” is to stand trail for his involvement in a deadly INM building fire that killed 40. During his Wednesday arraignment, a judge found sufficient evidence to move forward with charges against Carlos “C”.

Carlos “C” was arrested from his Ciudad Juárez hotel room last week. He was the second person to be detained for the fire.

According to the FGR, he is “accused of being the perpetrator for the crimes of homicide, injuries and damages caused by the fire in the provisional immigration stay in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, allegedly being one of the subjects who started the fire.”

His trial is set to begin in four months.
