Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two children were placed in protective custody Thursday after their mother was abducted from their home. Police responded to the report of the abduction in the Palmas 1 subdivision of the city, arriving to find two minors alone inside the home.
Preliminary information provided to police by neighbor witnesses said a brown van arrived at the home on Duraznos Street. Men from inside the van out and forced the woman from her home into the van before taking off.
Police immediately began a search operation for the missing mother, locating only the van. It was found abandoned along 125th Avenue in the Bellavista neighborhood. There was no sign of the missing woman. Her children remain under the protection of DIF.
