U.S. federal agents escort suspect to Oregon to face sexual assault charges

Mexico City, Mexico — A Mexican national wanted in an Oregon courtroom has been sent back to the U.S. On Friday, Edgar “O” was handed over to U.S. federal agents from the Mexico City International Airport for transfer back to the U.S.

According to a report by the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) of Mexico, Edgar “O” was wanted by the Circuit Court of the County of Multnomah,Oregon, for the crimes of sodomy and sexual assault in the first degree.

Edgar “O” is accused of sexually abusing a minor who was in his care in 2016. He has remained in Mexican custody since being arrested in Puente de Ixtla, Morelos. The Government of Mexico granted the extradition after the U.S. Government made the request earlier this year.
