Costa Maya, Q.R. — Two young men were killed Sunday in a motorcycle crash in the town of Chunhuhub. Both men were traveling on motorcycles during the early morning hours when they collided.
According to preliminary reports, one of the drivers was traveling in the opposite lane when he hit the oncoming bike. One of the motorcycles involved was carrying a 15-year-old female passenger.
A passing motorist reported the 1:00 a.m. accident to emergency services who, with an ambulance, traveled 60 kilometers to the accident site. The injured 15 year old girl was eventually transferred to hospital in Felipe Carrillo Puerto in serious but stable condition.
One of the young men was located by medical personnel on the road. The second man was found in highway brush. Responding paramedics arrived only to pronounce both 22-year-old Tony N and 22-year-old Cristian N, as deceased.
