San Andrés Totoltepec, Mexico City — Two women have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking after they were found transporting four packages of heroin.
La Procuraduría General de la República (FGR) in Mexico City reports that the two women, who were stopped by elements of the Federal Police, were arrested on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway at the town of San Andrés Totoltepec, while traveling on a bus from Acapulco, Guerrero to Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
According to police, the two women began acting nervous when police boarded the bus. During an inspection, police found each woman carrying two packages of heroin between their breasts. In total, four ovoid packages of heroine with a net weight of just over two kilos was seized.
Both were arrested and placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry for possession and transporting heroin. A judge found sufficient evidence against them and has remanded them in custody until their trial.
