Two suspects sought for Playa del Carmen shooting

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. –The Ministry of Public Security has released a photo of the two men suspected in the shooting death of an administrative assistant in Playa del Carmen Monday.

Police have distributed the photo, which was captured by security surveillance, via social media, saying they are believed to be those responsible for the murder of a man inside the Plaza Antigua building.

“These subjects are likely responsible for depriving a person of life in the Aviation neighborhood of the municipality of Solidaridad. We ask for your valuable help in locating them. If you recognize them or have any information, please contact 911 or 089. Thank you very much, ” wrote head of la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, Jesús Alberto Capella Ibarra.

On Monday morning, two men entered the building on the second floor near the National Institute of Migration (INM) office where a dispute over a sold used car began. Before it was over, one of the two shot the victim twice in the chest, killing him.

The deceased, identified as Roberto Antonio Pech Martínez, worked as an immigration administrative assistant for the law firm Mendiola y Asociados, which is near the INM office.

The State Attorney General has opened the investigation for homicide.
