Two minors part of four arrested in Playa del Carmen hotel robbery

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Four people who were reported for threatening staff at a Playa del Carmen hotel were arrested. Two of the four are reported to be minors. They were jailed after staff at a hotel in the Ejido area of the city reported the robbery of their cash.

Staff were able to provide details to police which resulted in a successful search operation. The hotel employees told police that the four arrived at the hotel armed with a knife. They then tied up the employees before making off with the hotel’s money.

The four, a 37-year-old woman, 30-year-old man and two teenaged boys, were stopped in the Volkswagen car they were driving. Using the description provided, police located their car on Constituyentes Avenue.

They were returned to the scene and positively identified by hotel staff. They were found in possession 6,538 peso in cash.
