Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two youths have been removed from Playa del Carmen streets by police who arrested them after robbing a convenience store.
The arrests took place in central Playa del Carmen after the pair robbed store on 40th Avenue. Taken into custody were 24-year-old Gregorio N from Chiapas and 23-year-old Leonardo N from Tabasco.
They were arrested after being tracked down by police when they tried to flee the scene of the robbery. Police were successful in intercepting the pair and taking them into custody, after which, they were positively identified by the store employees.
Upon their arrest, they were found carrying a boxcutter and the stolen cash. Both were transferred to police facilities.
