Cancun, Q.R. — Two young children have been left without parents after a Sunday highway accident outside Cancun. A helicopter was brought in to transfer both children to hospital after their car slammed into a tree.
The accident was reported at Kilometer 111 along the highway 180 outside Cancun Saturday. Nicolás N, the father and driver, is alleged to have lost control and hit a tree at excessive highway speed. He was pronounced on scene.
His wife, who was in the front passenger’s seat, was also pronounced on scene. The two children, aged 7 and 9, were rushed to different Yucatan hospitals due to their injuries in serious condition.
