Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — Solidaridad police have released the identity of the man taken into custody from a recent Fifth Avenue shooting. On Friday, the Seguridad Pública (SSP) identified 24-year-old Carlos “N” as the hitman that left one youth injured.
According to the SSP report, “Municipal Police arrested a subject for the possible crime of attempted homicide and also seized a firearm.”
The shooting happened on Fifth Avenue with 34th and 38th Streets Thursday afternoon. After receiving reports of gunfire, patrolling officers “provided aid to a person injured by gunshot wounds (…) they immediately began the operation to locate the shooter who was located on 15th Avenue.”
After a security inspection, a revolver-type pistol was seized from Carlos “N”, 24 years old and from Chiapas, supplied with six cartridges for which he was detained and placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office, they detailed in their report.
The injured person, 19-year-old Saul “E”, also from the state of Chiapas, received first aid at the scene before being taken to the hospital. Police did not provide a motive for the attack.
