Bacalar, Q. R. — Two people have been arrested in the abduction of three people in the municipality of Bacalar. The trio were forcefully removed from a public street and pushed into a compact car around 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the town of San Isidro La Laguna.
Witnesses who saw what happened called emergency 911 services, who in turn, deployed police in search of the vehicle. Police were successful in tracking down the car described by witnesses.
The driver was intercepted on the federal highway where police located two men and one woman inside. The woman was freed by police and the two men, arrested. After her rescue, the unidentified woman told police that the pair who abducted them from the street in the center of town dumped the two men off. They were left abandoned along the side of a roadway.
They were later found by police unharmed.
