Two Americans from Colorado bitten by crocodile during night swim

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco — Two American men were bandaged after being bitten by a crocodile at a resort in Puerto Vallarta. The two young men, who are from Colorado, were bitten while taking a nighttime sea swim.

According to information from the State Civil Protection Secretariat, the events occurred on the night of July 19, when one of the young men, a 24-year-old, swam in the sea at Bocanegra Beach.

While swimming, he was attacked. The second young man, his travel partner, was also bitten when he jumped in to help him.

“The man who was swimming presented injuries to both lower extremities, right upper extremity, chest and abdomen,” detailed the state agency.

“Meanwhile, his companion was injured in the upper right extremity and the right inguinal area,” added the Ministry of Civil Protection.

The Civil Protection Unit in Puerto Vallarta reported that the men were taken to a hospital for medical attention.
