Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Agents of the National Guard arrested two male persons thought to be extortionists after responding to a citizen complaint. The suspects were taken into custody while still inside the convenience store. Police reported finding 25,000 peso in cash on their person.
The arrests took place Tuesday afternoon when elements of la Guardia Nacional received a complaint about two people inside a convenience store charging floor rights to merchants of Fifth Avenue.
The agents deployed an operation in the vicinity where they saw two men, being identified as the alleged extortionists. Taken into custody were Cesar Andrés L.O. from the state of Puebla and Ariseo G.R. Between them, police found 25,000 peso in cash in their possession.
