Three transferred to hospital after flatbed loses load of bricks outside Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A flatbed loaded with bricks crashed Friday outside Playa del Carmen leaving three injured. Two people from inside the car were taken to hospital after the roof was crushed.

The accident was reported to emergency personnel shortly after 2:00 p.m. with reports of two vehicles involved and roadway passage blocked by a load of broken bricks. The driver of the semi flatbed, 27-year-old Henry N, was transferred to hospital for a head injury.

Two people from inside the car, a woman, Patricia N and minor boy, were transferred to Tulum with minor injuries.

Firemen were called to the scene to offer assistance, while elements from the National Guard stayed until tow trucks arrived to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway.
