Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The front end of a tourist van was destroyed in a highway accident early Sunday morning. The accident happened north of Playa del Carmen.
Passing motorists reported the overturned van on a section of highway around 8:00 a.m. According to information obtained, the tourist passenger van was heading to a hotel north of Playa del Carmen to drop off passengers when it overturned.
Ambulances were part of the scene as the three tourists from inside the van were taken to hospital. Their conditions are not known.
The white tourist passenger van was found laying on its side with the front end and windshield completely destroyed. On site authorities indicated that speed played a factor in the accident.
