Three in two fake Playa del Carmen taxis jailed on drug related offences

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Agents of the Solidaridad Municipal Police detained three men in two cars disguised as taxis from the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union. The men were arrested after being found in possession of drugs in the Villas del Sol subdivision.

The arrest occurred at the intersection of Palomas Street and Libramiento Avenue, according to a statement from the municipality’s Public Security Secretariat. Agents who were on patrol intercepted them before they could escape in the fake taxis.

“The officers reacted immediately and blocked their way, and after a security inspection to those who identified themselves as 40-year-old Oscar “N” from Chiapas, 27-year-old José “N” from Puebla and Jesús 40-year-old “N” from Veracruz, seized a variety of narcotics that included marijuana, crystal, crack, hashish and one communication radio,” the statement detailed.
