Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police were at the scene of a central shooting Thursday evening. Three people were reported hit by bullets from a pair of gunmen who shot at them while inside an open-air bar.
According to the preliminary report, the shooting happened around 7:00 p.m. at a bar along 14th Street near 35th Avenue in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood. Gunmen, who were outside the bar, took aim at two customers and one waiter who were inside.
All three were hit by bullets and transferred to hospital by ambulances. Their injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. Police have not said if the shooting was targeted or random.
