Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Quintana Roo Police have detained three men on drug charges who are also believed linked to city extortion attempts. Through a press release, the Ministry of Public Security explained that their capture was “the product of weeks of investigation and intelligence analysis.”
On September 25, Quintana Roo Police carried out the arrest of the three men, Joaquín N, Juan Carlos N and José N in the Guadalupana neighborhood. The trio were located with more than 100 bags of street-ready drugs that included marijuana, crack, cocaine and crystal along with drug paraphernalia and cash.
Police say the subjects are believed to belong to a group of organized crime and are alleged involved in Playa del Carmen extortion.
