Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — UPDATED: Three men have been arrested for the murder of a female gas attendant in Playa del Carmen. The woman was shot to death Wednesday night at her place of employment at Constituyentes and 125 Avenue.

Police began an immediate search operation for those responsible, quickly locating the three men inside a vehicle at the intersection of CTM and Flor de Ciruelo Avenue.

The woman was reportedly shot in the back around 2:00 a.m. after being the victim of a cash robbery. Paramedics responding to the report of a woman injured by gunfire arrived only to pronounce her death.

The FGE of Quintana Roo has reported the arrests of 28-year-old Amsony “N” from Tabasco, 24-year-old Miguel “N” from Chiapas and 26-year-old Ricardo “N” from Oaxaca. During their arrests, police confiscated a loaded handgun.

UPDATE: Since the arrest of three men Wednesday night for the murder of a gas station attendant, the FGE has reported it to be a targeted attack. On Thursday, the Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo said the shooting of the woman was a personal attack.

The unidentified woman was allegedly shot by Ricardo “A”, a man known to her. She died before medial help arrived. In their public statement, the FGE reported “Ricardo “A”, arrived at the fuel station aboard a white van type truck.

“The subject, accompanied by one of the detainees, went towards the victim, whom he already knew, and shot her with a firearm. After the attack, Ricardo “A” fled in the company of Amsony “G”, who was driving the motor unit; later, Miguel “H” joined them.”
