Texan jailed in Playa del Carmen pot bust

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Texan was arrested and transferred to a Playa del Carmen jail cell in a Friday pot bust. He was one of two men arrested by Solidaridad Police in central Playa del Carmen after the pair were seen “exchanging drugs.”

The jailed men have been identified by local police as 22-year-old Angel “N” from Quintana Roo and 30-year-old Alejandro “N” from Texas.

The Municipal Police of Solidaridad reported arresting two subjects and seizing possible marijuana as part of the reinforcement of prevention and surveillance work in the Centro neighborhood.

The pair were seen by Solidaridad officers around first street “exchanging what seemed to be drugs.” Arresting Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad (SSC) officers reported finding 35 packages of likely marijuana during an inspection.

“Elements implemented security patrols and when traveling on First Avenue they observed the now detained exchanging what seemed to be drugs. When carrying out a security inspection they found 35 packages of possible marijuana.

“Those who identified themselves as Alejandro “N” 30 years old, originally from Texas and Angel “N” 22 years old, from this state, were placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.”
