Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal officers rescued a teen and arrested a suspect after a Playa del Carmen bank manager called police. The call was made by the bank manager after a bank client requested help.
According to the State Attorney General (FGE), the client was escorted by a male and two females, one of which was underage, to the bank where he was being forced to withdraw 10,000 in cash. While there, police rescued the teenager and arrested the male.
In a statement, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) explained that “Abimael “N” was arrested by elements of the Investigative Police when he attempted to offer the sexual services of a minor.
“These actions were derived from a report to the emergency number by the manager of a bank branch where a bank account holder requested support.
“The bank client allegedly requested a sexual service on a website and was summoned to a hotel located on 12th Street and 15th Avenue where, when he tried to pay, he was told that they would only accept cash.
“Abimael “N”, accompanied by two females, one adult and one teenager, demanded payment of 10,000 pesos from the client for wasting their time, so they went to a bank branch,” at which time the manager called police.
The teen is reported to be from Tabasco and was sent funds by Abimael “N” to move to Playa del Carmen. Once here, “he created a profile for her on a website to offer her services and kept her incommunicado from her family.”
